Erica Jackson was raised in Stafford, Texas, a small town near Houston. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Huston-Tillotson University in Austin, Texas, graduating cum laude. During her undergraduate studies, she received numerous academic honors, including recognition as the university’s highest-ranking political science student, and was named both a Hatton W. Sumners Scholar and a W.E.B. Du Bois Scholar. Erica was initiated into the Beta Kappa Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. in 2010 and remains an active member, dedicated to serving her community through the organization’s programs and initiatives.
Following her undergraduate studies, Mrs. Jackson earned her Juris Doctor from the Southern University Law Center in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where she attended on academic scholarship. She gained valuable legal experience as a law clerk for a personal injury firm and as a student attorney in the Southern University Divorce Clinic.
After passing the Louisiana Bar Exam, Mrs. Jackson began practicing personal injury law and was later admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the Western District of Louisiana. Her practice has included matters involving automobile accidents, workers’ compensation, medical malpractice, and multi-district litigation in mass torts. Early in her career, her drive and advocacy led to multiple six-figure resolutions for her clients.
Mrs. Jackson later joined a prominent civil rights and personal injury firm in Jacksonville, Florida, where she merged her passion for justice with her legal practice. She worked on a wide range of cases, including personal injury, criminal defense, and civil rights litigation. Notably, she assisted in drafting a successful writ to the United States Supreme Court protecting her clients’ civil liberties. She also contributed to several high-profile cases that received both local and national media attention, refining her communication skills while working with diverse clients and media outlets. Among her career highlights was her work on an aviation negligence case that secured significant recoveries for military families, an experience she considers one of the most meaningful of her career. Her contributions across various cases have helped achieve judgments exceeding seven figures.
Before joining KGS, Mrs. Jackson served as a briefing attorney at a personal injury firm, where she supported the commercial litigation team through legal drafting, research, and trial preparation. Her efforts also resulted in six-figure settlements and awards. Shortly thereafter, Mrs. Jackson obtained her second bar license in the State of Texas.
Outside of her legal practice, Mrs. Jackson enjoys reading, writing poetry, and crafting. A true Southern spirit, she finds joy in cooking homemade meals and values the comfort and connection they bring.
